Help with Printing

It is often helpful to print web pages to keep as reminders or guides.  Because web pages are usually not designed for printing the process can be frustrating and time consuming.  Learning how to print only a portion of a web page can be very helpful and is the method recommended for printing out instructions you find in web pages at robshelp.com and eaph.com.

  1. Don't just hit the print button!  First highlight with your mouse the portion of the page you desire to print.

  2. Highlighting is done by positioning the mouse cursor right in front of the portion you wish to print and while holding down the left mouse button dragging to the end of the portion you wish to print, then letting go of the mouse button.

The highlighted portion of the page is a ''selection''.

  3. Still don't hit the print button!  Instead, in the tool-bar up at the top of your browser, click on the word File, then on the word Print.

  4. A print window will open that looks something like this:
  5. In the window find where you can put a check or select that you only want to print a Selection then find and click the Print button.

Go ahead and practice with this page.  Highlight the 1 through 5 instructions above with your mouse then follow the instructions to print only that portion of this page.  Note, the numbers to the left will probably not get highlighted but will print anyway.
